Woutrina Smith, DVM, MPVM, PhD, is a professor of infectious disease epidemiology and Executive Director of the UC Davis One Health Institute. She also serves as Associate Dean for Global Programs in the School of Veterinary Medicine. Her research spans One Health, molecular epidemiology, and infectious diseases, and she has led the USAID One Health Workforce–Next Generation Project and co-directed the UC Global Health Institute’s Center for Planetary Health. She mentors trainees and teaches in professional and graduate programs. She received her DVM, MPVM, and PhD from UC Davis.
