Brittany Lauren Morgan Bustamante (Observer, Ex-Officio)
Britt LM Bustamante, PhD, is a University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley and incoming Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at UC Irvine. She is an infectious disease epidemiologist whose research examines how social, environmental, and healthcare system factors shape infectious disease risk and outcomes. Integrating systems-level theory, advanced statistical modeling, and large-scale electronic health record data, her work identifies contextual drivers of disease emergence and disparities. Her recent projects span antibiotic resistance, fungal infections, and healthcare access across diverse populations, leveraging spatial, multilevel, and systems-science approaches to uncover the mechanisms linking communities, infrastructure, and infectious disease dynamics.
